yes it's what I've got on my g40.  Although the caliper brackets do mean you have to cut a small amount of metal off the strut housing though.

chasesfc

ok cool buddy.

what are they like ? worth the price tag

hayesey

I find them good on track.  Not sure it's worth the expense on the road though.

well im building my g40 with track days in mind so i think i will get a set. what brake hoses do you run or can you run standard polo hoses with these. ?

hayesey

standard ones are a bit too short, I think mk2 golf ones would be the ones to use.  I do have standard ones on mine (as I'd already bought them) but I made a short solid connecting piece and bracket for them so they reach.

Cant say ive driven them yet but they will be worth the extra pennies. Dont forget the price of this kit excludes pads so you will need to budget for these as well. With mine, like Hayesey i have removed some material from the hub housing and a little from the back of the mounting bracket to get them to fit. One side needing more material removing than the other but be carefulll not to take too much back on the strut housing as you will start to get close to the weld..

hayesey

indeed.  Other things I'd say is put a load of copper grease into the bolt heads on both the bracket and caliper bolts as they will rust pretty quickly otherwise.  I also put locktight onto the bolts so they don't loosen as they will be pretty highly stressed!

How would you rate this kit against the OEM Audi/Scirocco 256mm setup?

hayesey

well having had a go in yoofs car once with his audi 256mm setup I'd say the pedal feel is much more solid on the 4pots.
