g40 vs g60

My mate had a ~200bhp Rallye when I had my standard G40 circa 2005. never "raced" him as such but I remember being very unimpressed when I went out for a ride in it. It had Nitrous too. They sound hideous IMO, like a bagpipe that's nearly inflated......constantly. At least the G40 is a little sneeze here and there, the G60 sounded like it had something wrong with it. This was hard for me to accept too having come from Mk2 Golfs (I'd had a good few 8v GTI's by then). This was the reason my next one was a Mk2 Golf with a G40 lump in it. Loved it.

Probably with the boost return mod done then as mine is pretty silent compared to the G40

Yes, sorry I didn't mention that. my G40 and his G60 had the boost return pipe d/c'd (or equivalent on the G60, I know something differs in the recirculating bit/ BRV)

yeah g60 is a little different. I undid mine and put it back on as it sounded like a massive leak.

A mate had a mk1 golf sportline g60 with about 200bhp, was very meh performance wise
