Hi all,
I bought this car a while ago to add to my collection. It still needs full restoration but will get on with later in the year.
I'm told that this is one of three built by VW Motorsport UK. Mine in on a Q plate due to be a brand new shell and no Chassis numbers. The other 2 are unknown( anyone?)
This was built for Alister McRae for his recce car whilst he drove for VW.
This car is a fantastic car and already is a joy to own, can't wait till I get it up and running.
What I'm after is, has anyone got any more info or pictures of this car?
Thanks

Welcome to the group, excellent purchase, any pictures?

hayesey

that's what I was thinking

Andy

There was one which languished at Bruntingthorpe - I think that car was all yellow?

The blue one was on an A-plate (1-litre Mk2 breadvan ID) when I first saw it, and latterly on a K-plate from a genuine G40.

Karlos the jackyl

Could it be this one ?

Thanks guys
Yep your right, it's the one from Bruntingthorp. All yellow inside and out.
Apparently  it has very good heritage but I need confirmation.
This is a works built car, the quality of workmanship is fantastic.
If anyone happens to come across any info or pictures that would be great.
I'll post some pics after the weekend
Many thanks

Yellow with 15" rims last time I saw it (bigger AP brakes at the front??)

Be interested in the pics - spec was fairly basic Safety Devices cage & usual cup car accompaniments IIRC

Ah you must of seen another one this is a direct shell from vw ( no seam sealer in joints) full weld in cage by custom cages, full seam welded, huge brakes all round and on billstein suspension  all round. This is a true works built car.
I'm after an LSD for either a 4 speed box or a lupo gti box with an LSD, any out there
Cheers

Yoof

Sounds like the one that's been at Brunters for years  ;D

Glad to see it's going to be used again, stick up some pics  8)
