I'm going to have my stock G40's head rebuilt and potentially ported and polished, and fit a 4branch manifold, plus 51TB
At the same time as taking it off, what other jobs would be sensible to do? From a G40 perspective.

A mechanic friend recommended definitely buying a lambda sensor for the exhuast - as thats common practice - would be difficult to get the old one out.
It's tips like that i'm after really.
Thanks
Joe

If they aren't already I'd get the people doing the head work to replace the valve guides and seals and 3 angle cut the valve seats.

Other than that , replacing the timing belt and water pump is recommended.

I'd not bother with the lambda unless you think it needs one. It's no easier or harder with the head on or off.

Elring do a gasket set for head rebuilds, includes stuff like thermostat housing seal and dizzy seal. so worth replacing all those at the same time. It also has valve stem seals just make sure you get the right size.

Also inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets. And TB gaskets

Thanks for those comments, that's helpful :)
I think I've got all gaskets to supply, to the garage. and Cambelt, Water pump too.

Valve stem seals I know there is variations but no idea what is needed, have to meet that when it comes I think.

One thing I did think of was injector - orings - they cost £37 for all 8 from TPS - bright blue little things, quite hard too.

I need a new set of the o-rings. What's TPS's part number for those?

06A906145  Seal Ring, you need 8 apparently, £4.81 each making total of £37.52 with some discount.
