oil pump chain tension

does anyone have much experiance with the polo oil pump chain and its tension

from what i can find the tension should be about 3mm , mine is much slacker and a new one on max tension is a smidge tighter like you would expect from a fresh chain

is 3mm right ?  should i be able to get it that tight?

pulleys look fine for wear
