I contacted JNL and thought i'd share the communication (I asked if they can fit G-lader to car, and what there prices are, assuming you provide rebuild kit):

Hi sorry for delayed reply been a bit manic this week.

Being a machine shop we dont work on cars so the charger would need to be removed and refitted by either yourself or appointed by you.

If you are supplying the rebuild kit prices are as follows.

Stock rebuild £100 excl parts but includes aquablasting the case for an as new look.

Street/strip porting £200 incl stock rebuild.

Race porting (requires exh housing to be supplied)  £250 incl stock rebuild.

Cheers JP '

I then asked whether the charger needs stripping (& if it's ok to post it on clubg40):

All you need to do is remove charger from car and supply rebuild parts.

Cheers JP

Looks promising, mine needs done....wouldn't mind porting tidied up whilst it's getting put back together.  Getting a rebuild kit from Pete and sending it all down would be minimal hassle and at £100...it'd prob. save a whole day of screwing around.

JoeH

Thats what I thought too Tav.
Also think postage is on top of the above costs.

PeteG40

Its not really minimal hassle as to strip and remove bearings and clean to send to jnr is about 3/4 of the time spent rebuilding one!

Tav

He said just to remove it from the car and send it down complete though?

JoeH

Yer, Pete you said you had to strip yours, so I double checked and JP @ JNL said, just remove from car.
So realistically JNL can be added alongside the likes of yourself, OCD, Jabba, et al as people that can receive posted chargers for rebuild. I guess with the added benefit of their porting skills...

Your charger is very nice Joe - its been cleaned tonight and relieved of its bearings!

Sorry to gate crash but being a former g40 owner I'm very interested in all of this but I'm just in the process of getting a golf g60 and was wondering what was best route for charger overhaul as I would have used g werks or something on south coast psd?

Hope you guys can help and not to insulted with the move to the golf  :o

JoeH

Hey Peteg40 (and all others interested in charger rebuilding), this is my charger, with your service parts (on the right) at JNL racing, note all the old parts are from when you serviced it by the previous owner.

Is this still available? Anyone got results/reviews on performance afterwards?
