G40 Rally

When was the last time you guys did an official rally? Was it 2010?

Any chance it'll happen again?

I know many of the guys now have track prepped G40's. But for those that have standard (ish) G40's it might be nice to get a few together for a blast.

No reason why it can't.

reason it hasn't in the past is we normally did it before Tatton Park Vw North West. However the day before has been club polo track days - so not done both.

In addition a few of the Club G40 organisers (me, Sam, Hayesey, dknight? have been very busy (Houses/children/wives)

If you want to coordinate something Andy, feel free in the name of clubg40, doesn't have to be a moderator/admin!

Ah I see. I figured "life commitments" may have played a part in it. Clashing with the club polo track day seems a logical reason though.

I don't mind helping organise a run if there is any interest?

It seems that life has taken hold of play time though. Looking to buy a house this year, along with other commitments myself. So would need to be sure that there is enough interest.

Also living in the land of the turnip farmers means I lack knowledge of decent roads in the northern sector; I may need some help in coordinating a route etc. (might not be the best person to plan the route

).

I am happy to help with admin etc however.

So as a feeler to guage interest; is there any?

I'd be up for it too, depending on where and when.

I'm sure our resident motoring hack would have some good suggestions for decent roads if we fancied a change.

I think thats the 1st feb. Need to check club polo really but i dont really go on there much. Im leaving portsmouth on the friday for good mate so wont be down your way from then.

Yeah the Club Polo Rolling road day is on the 1st Feb at Aldon Automotive

Would be nice to see some G40's there. Seems mostly 1.4 16v's at the moment!

I'd be up for this. I'll have a head scratching session about decent routes, but most of the good ones I know about are in Wales or on the Continent and start at an airport.

Might pop in on the Club Polo RR day to see what my car's making with the new exhaust...
