Ok my clutch is on its way out on the GT and I'm looking for an upgrade if possible!

Its running a fair amount of power over standard should be around 100-105 hp based on similar spec'd gt's + gets driven hard and a bit of track time.

As far as I understand the gt clutch is 190mm and a g40 is 200mm

I have heard a g40 clutch will fit? Can anyone provide more info?

Not looking to spend a huge amount of money but want good quality so It lasts.

g40 clutch will fit as they use the same flywheel, I would either use a standard sachs clutch or a helix fast road organic one..

6n 16v clutch would be more than up to the job and possibly cheaper than the G40? These are 200mm too, I used some old random one of unknown mileage in a mk2 with nearly 140bhp and that took plenty of abuse without slipping

the early 16v 6n clutch is the same as a g40 one.  but they are sometimes listed for cheaper :)

I just bought a 6n (AFH) clutch (LUK) for £94 from ecp, he quoted £115 for a Valeo G40 one.

I managed to get an LUK 6N from carparts4less (euro online) with one of their offers for just over £80 last month. Works a treat and is much nicer on the leg than the original from the factory clutch that was still in there.
