Does anyone have, or know where i could find a G40 steering column with barrel and key. Had mine broken into and they've made a right mess of it.

Also does anyone know if a VW Polo 1.0 1993 steering column would be compatible with a G40?

I'm not sure, but I think I read that the GT/G40 share the same steering damper, but all mk3 polo's steering columns are the same, someone on here must be able to clarify this.

The steering damper is mounted on the rack brackets not the column.
As far as I'm aware all the columns are the same, I can't see why there would be any difference?
I'm sure one of the G40 guru's on here will be able to confirm via the part no or something.

you can use one from any mk3 and pretty much any mk2.  The only thing to watch out for is that some (older ones I think) have different size collars for the steering wheel to fit onto.

I have one from a '91 G40. Located in Cheshire.
