Evening all,

Apologies for the constant stream of basic mechanical question. My sisters have bought me a haynes manual, but until that arrives I am stuck.

I am Losing a tremendous amount of coolant. I have attached pictures to best explain where it's coming from.

Any advice would be smashing. Otherwise I may rid the world of de-ionised water

Thermostat housing seal gone. With some luck will be just rubber seal not corroded head.  And u mean distilled? Not deionized? ??

physicsfool

Ah thank you, yes i meant distilled. Spent too much time in the lab today and not in a beer garden

As pete said
had the exact same problem, turned out to be the seal, but changed the plastic crossroads just to be sure, all was good
also like the name relavence to your job :P

Sounds good, I will buy one tomorrow, will it require me to drain the coolant first? My temp sensors has been playing up, so could this by why?

When you take them off prepare for the bottom one to round out as mind did, had to break and rip the plastic housing off leaving the corroded bolt, then use some proper mole grips to get it out. Worst case scenario as it may be a pain
