Battery Light?

Went to asda today and when i came out i sat in the car with the engien running and noticed the battery light was illuminated. i popped the bonnet and checked for loose wires or snapped charger belts...nothing looked out of place. stopped the engine to check the belts were tight and they were ok. started it again and it was still on. just touched the accelerator (didnt even rev above 1k)and the light went out. used the car since and its not been back on. any ideas lads?

Yep, nothing to worry about, mine and my mates GT does it
something to do with the exciter diode in the alternator needing a minimum threshold to put an output out

Mine's been like that since before I had the G40 engine fitted in mine. That's pushing 10-11 years now and all is still well
