Door trims

Can anybody enlighten me on how to remove the plastic door trims that run halfway down the door on a G40?

They're made up of two parts, the back part which is stuck to the door with foam pads and the front part which basically clips on to the back part.  To get the front off carefully prize it away at the handle side of the door.
