Annoying Electrical Problem???

Below follows how it starts.Hi, i have an electrical problem, i think.

This happens from a cold/hot start, the car idles fine. If i drive smoothly not pressing to much the Gas pedal and not passing from 3000-3200 rpm the car runs smoothly.

When on a hill or overtaking that i need to press more the gas pedal or even when in the motorway that i need to overpass 3000rpm but the gas pedal did not travel almost nothing at all.
This starts to do a cut in the engine looping from about 4,5 seconds when i go below 3000rpm and the gas pedal is halfway depressed. When i'm on a downhill and not touching the pedal there's no cut. But if i press less than halfway the gas pedal again below 3000rpm it cuts again but with the pedal more than halfway pressed it stops cutting the engine and every is fine. If i pass 3000rpm after the problem started with little or full gas the cut problem disappears also and come back again after dropping from 3000rpm.

At Idling it happens to, i can see it in the rpm gauge and hear it.
When driving and it cuts, it shakes violently the car.

Its very annoying because of the shake and when you want to start driving from a standstill position we tend to forget the cut and just when we depress the clutch and give gas and at that time the engine cuts the engine stops.

After stopping the engine and started again the problem disappear, at least until i need to climb a hill or overtake someone.

This give me 2 options, run very very slow and very very delicate with the gas pedal or run the car like a maniac.

Any clues what it could be??

Did a extensive search on Haynes manual and on google.

The main conclusion i reached is the knock sensor. (Faulty, bad connection, nut badly torqued [20nm] or not having the sensor install at all).

Initially i thought it was the hall sender to blame but know i'm convinced it's gonna be the Knock.

Any ideas?

Annoying issues like this can be the coil, how old is it?

Alex has a knock sensor for sale in the for sale section. Will be worth getting in my opinion. I had the engine violently cutting out when I had issues with my knock sensor years ago.

hayesey

sounds like ignition breaking down under heavy load.  I'd start with the coil like pete says.  I'd have a look at the condition of the knock sensor lead though.

On heavy load the engine is fine. After a trash when back below 3000rpm starts the cut, if i go above 3k rpm again the cut stops and runs like a charm.
I think it must be the knock sensor because it advances the timing for high rpm because it detects pinging and then it can not decrease the timing when below 3k rpm.

The Coil is a good place to see to, thanks peteG40. It must be the original 21 year old one. lol.

SamG40. I live in a tiny island far away in Portugal, Madeira. Its easier if i buy the knock sensor here.

On the weekend i'm going to check this issues on an specialized electric car shop.

When i discover the problem i let you know what it is.
Thanks all of you, when the problem started i was convinced it was the Hall Sensor. Is this part worth checking to?
