water channels rust

i'm having a dilemma, after 2 focked engine blocks, i found another one with a damaged piston, but all bores look ok, my concern is the block surface..

it all looks fine, excepts water channels, they look too big due to rust, maybe because previous owner use water besides coolant.

they look like this one (sorry to Oily finger's for using his picture for illustration)


some holes lost they'r edgy corners between piston and channel, where gasket metal sits on the block.

will i have overheating problems? will coolant go into cylinder due to reduced cylinder wall thickness? is there any was to fill the channels and skim the block for perfection?

sorry for my long text, but i'm kinda tired of engine problems.

you could possibly fix it with liquid metal and then get it skimmed.  Or someone who is good with a welder could weld the corroded areas and then get it skimmed.

is it not easier/cheaper to just get anether second hand block or are they harder to come by in you're area?
