I got your PM about this but unfortunately i cant afford it this month as i've had to replace my rear air bags on my golf as i split one

will the same diff fit a gt box and a g40 one? I know the original diffs are different with one having a bolt on crown wheel, but if it does I may be interested in getting one to run in my gt box until i get my hands on an g40 one to transfer it to.

You need the bolt-on crownwheel. If you've got an AHD GT 'box then it's pressed-on, so can't take an LSD.

You will probably struggle to get one in a group buy again though so will have to pay full price in the future.

Yeah as Andy says, an AHD code GT is no good for a quaife. You'll need to have the CEH code GT gearbox iirc for your plan to work.
