sorry if its in the wrong section but i had to share this picture of the mk2 g40 i saw in holland all origanal as there was the press release brochure with it aswell.... my god it was sexy in the flesh there was also two more mk2 g40s aswell

yeah there is/was a red mk2 in the UK with that kit on it.  Not sure what happened to it, someone bought it and restored it a few years ago.

never seen a mk2 gee in the flesh but to see 3 off them was unreal and in holland they had g40s for fun nearly every other polo was a g40

thats not what a mk2 g40 normally looks like though.  The wide bodied one in the UK just had a coupe s engine in it originally if I remember correctly.  I think it's an aftermarket kit.  Very nice though, kind of like a mini-Integrale!

it rolled out of the factory like that all the documents was there so i dunno either way it was sweet.... ye i like it as its like the intergrale. i didnt know they made a diesel g40 neither

the body kit is a proper VW motorsport item.

the red one as 'ayesey mentions was built by David Sutton motorsport who ran the Audi group B quattros in the 80s on behalf of Audi.

iirc the arches on the david sutton one had vw motorsport embossed in them on the fold.

Thanks mate av got loads of others from the show...... but tht mk2 was awesome the same person sold a mk3 cup car back to vw car gallery and has a mk2 2cylinder diesel g40

Yep, there is a red one in uk. i owned it for about 5 years, full restored it and sold it in 2007/2008 to a chap in London i think for the price of £2000. its was originally a 1.3 which was converted to a 1.3 gt twin webbers by the chap who owned it before me,it was a awesome car! Its an original David sutton motorsport  polo which was raced in the UK back in the late 80s.
