I am after a spare wheel for my g40.

I am currently running 6Jx14h2 BBS and want a spare.  a cheap steel would be good.

i am running 185/55/14 tyres.

i have 256 brakes on so hence the 14's

will upload images of the bbs alloys i have shortly.

what wheel model are these

Nick_S

BBS RJ's

Quite often pick odd ones of these in cruddy condition for about £10-£15 on the 'bay.

thanks i will keep my eye out

also what centers should these have as the ones i have dont seem to fit and I am missing one anyway.

PeteG40

run a 13" spare.

If you knacker a front, jack up rear and change rear for the spare, then use the rear on the front!!!

DMWG40

I dont have any 13"s

is it ok to run a 13 and a 14 on the back at the same time ?

PeteG40

surely it is, space saver are tiny...

Technically it's illegal to run odd tyre sizes across the same axle ie front to back but can differ, but left to right must be the same. There's got to be some sort of way round it for manufacturers to use space savers though?

Tyre Weld?

cheers guys at the moment i am looking at a space saver 14" if no luck there will pop down scrap yard and pick up a 14" steel for the polo.
i thought space saver s where always the same size wheel just tyre was alot smaller but guessig the rolling radius was similar. but then your only meant to use them to get you to a garage anyway to fix your tyre.
not use them to drive around all day

Citroen 2CV's have 4 space savers as std! :p lol

Puncharado

A small space saver is the way forward for a flat boot floor. But granted, a full size spare will get you further, faster. Does a full size 14 fit in the wheel well though?

anyone know what the correc centre cap numbers are for these, has someone got a set of these so i can ask ?

They remind me of beemer alloys off 80's 3 series' Like a 325 convertible for example. Could be worth popping to  a BMW Dealers with one and see if they're of any help?
