G40 aint making me smile anymore :-(

Rite guys more help needed! I have recently serviced the charger and all is running fine and smoothly, but it just doesn't give me the same instant throw back in the seat feeling as before,1st gear is the only gear u can really feel this but before it was felt all the way through the gears! Any ideas? Thanks colin!

maybe your charger is loosing pressure. guess its time for new strips!

When u say new strips what do u mean? And as far as I can see there are no boost leaks

the ribbed boost hose to the intercooler is often the culprit and can crack and seep air out.

if you are running no boost return pipes, try covering the part at throttle and check if you are getting good pressure.
the rubber hose on the boost pipe should inflate pretty quick, only hold for a few seconds though.

alternatively have someone rev your car whilst you listen in the engine bay..

Will double check the ribbed hose after work, can such a small crack ect give so much lack of power tho?

yeah - my dads g40 didnt actually look like a hole till i poked it - replacing it made a HUGE difference, 3rd gear felt like 2nd!

When you took charger off you remembered the o-ring on the outlet dome didnt you?

The other classic place for a major boost leak is the ISV pipe that comes out of the bottom of the long plastic hose. Check it's connected securely both ends.
