I received my cam today from g-ladersite but wen looking at the cam it looks like it hasnt been cut properly, or the metal left hasnt been filed off. Will get some pics up to show.

Its not on the smooth part of the cam, just the sides.

Not sure if the pics show much.

Hmm always thought the schrick cams were finished a bit better than that, given the money they cost.  Newman ones are usually like that.  Not a problem, you could file if it you wanted but be very careful not to mark the lobe or leave any loose bits

many aftermarket cams i've seen are like this piper and newman... just a crap finish compared to vw

Be careful with the edges - they are fooking sharp and you don't notice you've been cut until there's a trail of blood to investigate.

Yeah the money you pay, like £220, you would expect to be better quality.

I noticed there sharp by feeling them yesterday. Might get a small file and just grind it down to take away the ruff edges.

£220 for a schrick cam ain't too bad I've seen them for more like £300 where'd you get that one from mate ?

I got it from http://www.g-laderseite.de/eshop/product_info.php?cPath=31_37&products_id=87

The total including postage and that came to 292.50 euros which payapl converted it to £252. I paid for it monday night, had an email on tuesday morning saying it was sent, then received it thursday/friday.

Thorsten is a really nice person to speak to and very helpfull.

Oh i also got 2 little magazines, one with all of schricks cam related products and one that explains what a cam does and how it works. Its handy to have and read.

Plus i got a smart Die G-Ladersite pen.
