what's a fair price/going rate for these at the moment?

if i get hold of just the lights, can i fabricate the wiring or is it recommended to get the original loom?

Just make your own loom I'm not sure you can get originals anyway and they'd probably be a fortune. I think the connectors are the same as indicator plugs iirc so you can easily get hold of them from a scrappie or someone breaking a car.
