Afternoon folks, my names Rich, and i've had a GT for a number of years. Today i finally took the big leap and put some money down on a G40 engine that I will be collecting at the weekend. It will be going into my GT, so I plan to have good rummage through related posts on here, but undoubtably i'll be asking some questions, of which i've already compiled a list! I need to get a few parts to make it a full go, so will also but chucking up some wanted ads. Just thought i'd introduce myself before quizzing you all on info.

Hopefully there are some pictures with this post, of the car it will be going into.

Cheers folks Rich

welcome to the forum!  Looks like a nice car.  I don't think you'll regret putting a g40 engine into it :D

Nice GT & Nice wheels.
I was going to make my Genisis look like that
but Some pissed up 19 year old Cock smashed me up the Arse
at speed at 7am one morning.

Sorry to hear that Fred, unfortunately there are quite a few morons on the roads!
Cheers for the welcomes fella, i'm certainly looking forward to it, out my depth a little tho now, was pretty confident spannering away on my GT, G40 is going to add another degree!! But i certianly am excited about it!.

Looks like a good base to start with. Always been tempted by a set of those wheels myself.

Take your time and dont be afraid to ask stuff. Probably the easiest way to do it though going from a GT.

Cheers very much folks, thats the plan, i'm in no rush, so will be taking it nice and gently asking plenty of Q's. As i said, i need to get a few missing bits etc to complete my shopping list of everything i think i'll need. And i'll start finding all the info I need while i collect the bits.

Hiya Brett, should of guessed you'd be on here! Always had a hankering for a G40, but using the car for work meant i couldn't, now i don't have too, and i've realised nothing will happen with my golf until i have my own place, I thought it would be rude not to perk my GT up a touch!

Cheers for the warm welcome folks, eases the hesistions to get some questions posted.

Think you might have me confused Yoofy, my names Rich. But you can call me whatever you Jake if that allows me to pick your brain for G40 info.

Really nice looking GT that, lovely wheels and stance. That's one of my favourite colours too and the factory tints really go well with it IMO.
