New problem: Oil pressure light is on and beeping!

Im going to invest in a oil pressure gage me thinks.

how exactly do they fit? never done one before...

it's a worthwhile investment, every g40 should have one!  Best way to fit is to tee it into the oil pressure switch in the head that doesn't currently have a tee piece on it.

You shouldn't be able to see oil splashing about under the cam cover unless you haven't fitted the splash plates. If they are fitted and there's oil splashing about, it might be that it's not draining back fast enough and causing low sump level.

this might actually be it... i havent fitted that plash plate thingy. Could it actually cause this?

No mate, I'm saying that if the splash plates WERE fitted and there was oil splashing about that might be the problem.

i had this problem and it turned out to be a small rubber bung that fits between the oil pump and the plate it butts up against. its only a small gap and cant really be seen unless the oil pump is off which is a pain
