Hi all, does anyone know if changing the lower (return) oil feed pipe to a braided type rather than the standard steel pipe/rubber will be detrimental to the oil flow in any way? I am having the pipes made up by Unimaster who specialise in making hydraulic fittings for commercial applications. Ther reason behind this is due to me having to lose the return pipe as I have a new tensioning pulley in the way of the old pipe route.

Many thanks,

Will.

nope, as long as it is the same internal diameter pipe (or bigger).

you guys are the man. 1 week until I turn the key and bring the mk1 golf g40 to life HAR HAR HAAAAR.
I tried to make a build thread about it but i'm better with spanners than computers. I will put some pics up though.

Cheers.

I have also had a half braided oil return pipe.

Used brand new metal pipe and got the braided bit added  8)

Word, the pipe I had made up was totally inadequate, the oilways were much smaller than the original, as were the banjo's the guy who made them seemed to think it would be fine but I wasn't convinced so I just used the old ones... they're fine.

Cheers for the help though everyone, IT RUNS!!

As you will see from the pic i have not put the metal pipe in the holder (10mm bolt below 19mm bolt for supercharger) just wanted to show the pic of the braided hose.

But thanks anyway as it would have been a good heads up if i hadn't noticed
