Dubdan and his G40...

Well i thought i would make a post just to inform you guys what has happened

he was set to be on the stand at Tatton, i was all set to meet him in morning but his bird text me at work that night informing me he had been in an accident and was in hospital.
I dont know the full story yet but he lost it in the rain and ploughed into a post

The car is supposidly a complete mess.

He is badly cut and bruised, and had a broken elbow.

He rested for a day and went back complaining of pain in his leg, they checked and the poor lad has a fractured pelvis, and is in for a operation tomorrow, and will be layed up for a fair while

How the hell they missed it i do not know, if he hadnt of gone back, jesus, the damage that could have been caused!

jesus! sounds a fair bit worse than we knew about at tatton then.  Hope he gets better soon.

Shame about the car too, looks like it was a minter.  One less G40 but as long as he is going to be OK then that's all that matters.

well the car is recovered, and he is lucky for 2 reasons

1. the obvious, that is some major damage
2. the engine is a ok, no damage at all, and alot of parts can be saved!

still cant believe how lucky he is

holy shit! good job no one was on the passenger side.  Glad to hear he's on the mend, I presume this also means he's got the car back (since it appears to be in your yard) so can sell bit's off it at least.

Hi everyone,

Firstly i want to thank my uber good friend dan for all the help while I'm out of action and for all his hard work in the next few weeks or so trying to sell my car etc. (well whats left of it)

Secondly thanks for all your msgs and best wishes it means alot.

So just a quick low down on how it happened (or what i can remeber of it anyways as i was knocked ou fot 15mins or so). I was on my was back to my GF's house after picking up some last minute things for Tatton Park to show off my car . I was in the ouside lane of a duel carriage way which was merging into one when i was blocked out by a golf gti who really would not let me in for love nor money. Driving conditions were terrible (heavy rain). I had to break (harder than usual) which caused the wheels to lock up which sent me fish tailing all over the road. I controlled this (sort of) but then as i went to knock it down a gear (to hopefully slow right down) i knocked my hand break and the back end went which caused me to smash into the 2 posts. My car ended up been the wrong way on the road nose to nose with the golf somehow. I cant remeber much other than this. I woke up with the driver of the golf holding my head telling me not to move as i had been in an accident. Apparently i had been trying to get out, must have been my natural instinct! The fire men got me out of the boot then into the ambulance.

Got to the hospital and was drugged up to the eyeballs on morphine (man that shit is wicked) but was talking a load of shit. They sent me for some x-rays and then got me onto a ward telling me i had just broken my elbow. I got dischared on the sunday but was in some right fucking pain with my leg, i had to use my GF as a leaning post to walk on putting all my weight on her. I'm suprised i didnt crush her! She had me walking up and down the staris and throwing me into the bath ha the eveil woman!

I went back to hospital on the Monday for my arm putting in a cast. I saw the doctor who then told me that my arm wasnt broken and that hes concerned about my neck and my pelvis. He examines my x-rays and told me the worst news ever that i had fractured my pelvis. I could not believe it.They sent me for a CT scan that evening ready for my operation. The x-rays came back which confirmed a rather large fractue (fuck knows how they missed it) but was happy my neck was fine, just a little whiplash. They got me a bed and put me onto the ward telling me that my op was the next day. ( fuck man i didnt have time to think). I woke up after the op in quite alot of pain, not suprising really when theres a screw shoved into your pelvis lol. Physio came to see me the next day and got me out of bed walking on what looked like a spackerised zimmer frame to me. Not much help to be honest. I was even more pissed off when physio decided it was a bright idea to tell me they though my arm may have been fractured. The doctor came to see me that night who indeed told me that there was a fracture in my arm but it was so small it would heal on its own thank fuck i didnt have to have it put in plaster. Then today physio came to see me again and had me walking up and down stairs and in straight lines using crutches, which iv managed to master, anyone needing lessons in how to use crutches I'm your man!! I cant understand how the hospital have been so wrong but at least I'm alive to tell you all the tale eh?!

Then theres the car....i had no clue as to what state the car would be in so i had to go on what people were telling me. Iv seen the pics for the first time today and fucking hell i am absoloutly gutted. I put so much work into this car over the last 4 years and this was my pride and joy. As most of you will agree that was a mint G40 and its sad to see it go in such a state. I just hope whoever buys the parts looks after them. But then on the brightside, I'm alive and luckily my Gf wasnt with me. The rosary beads in my car must have worked a treat!

I will keep you posted on my progress in walking etc and once again thanks again for all the support and lovely msgs. Thanks for your time reading this post, i really do appreciate it!
