hayesey

nice to see a beat up mk2 gt-g40 being saved!

Keep us updated with the progress.

PeteG40

thats correct rae - mk2's dont have the co pot though

hayesey

Do they have a MAP sensor in the ECU still?  Wouldn't have thought so with an AFM

PauloGT

The MK2 have a " débimètre " (I can't translate this word)

The "débitmetre" is on the air box in color blue. The GT polo have this sytem.

The calculator haven't got  a map sensor.

;)

hi,your"debimetre" only runs up to 0,9 bar pressure!
if you gear up to a rs,g60,eaton you will need to swap to mk3 controller, map sensor.wiring, butterfly and airbox!
no idea how your turbo charger will work, but your contoller will automaticly run the fail-save program.
the old fashion way would be changing to an vauxhall-opel gte 16v "debimetre" wich will allow up to 1,1 bar if i remember.
that would be the chicken way out tho.....
could sent pics and partnrs if you like.
looks like a longer "shop season" for you.like your plan, keep mk2 g40 alive!
oh and i almost forgot...if you need some money to make your process happen.
i would be more then happy to take the pressure hose and g charger out of your hands!

Always good to see a G40 restoration :)  Reminds me of when Tom Garret found a similar state genuine 1987 mk2 G40 in the UK.

Is this the original engine? I thought all the mk2 G40's had bolt on water pipes and not the later push in fit type?

PauloGT

I not sure this is not a original engine, this engine was break with original valves.

MK2 LIMITED : I don't uderstand what you want ! ???

For this preparation I don't take the "debimetre" , I've MK3 ship  ;D
