Went down the garage today to put my toothed pulleys on, the charger one went on sweet and so did the crank pulley. Access to the alternator pulley is well tight when its on the engine, i couldnt manage it as the engine would jack up high enough or low enough due to the charger bracket resting on chassis leg. So i took it off and got the chain whip on it and ended up breaking the whip......racked off! So i reckon im gonna buy some stilsons and get them on it, any other suggestions?

what size nut is it, something like M14? Not feeling the stilson idea then?

Screwdriver through the fan it is then

Yeah, I wedge the fan in the casing with a broad screwdriver to stop it from turning. Then get a suitable socket and T bar on the nut. Get someone to stand on the alternator to hold it still and give the T bar a sharp wack with a large hammer to shock it off. Should come off easy then.

Sorted it. Pry bar through the fan, ring spanner......rolling!
