Basically i've had this 1.3cl for a year or so now, bought with the intention of converting to a G40. Its only done 13k genuine miles so is pretty clean and tidy as you can imagine. My problem is im running out of space to have the car sat in the garage, and as im currently rebuilding my genuine G40 i've not exactly got the time to spend on it. Im considering selling it on so someone else can do the conversion and have a mint base car to start with.

Im just wondering, what sort of price do you think its worth?

Wow, that looks real mint.

With only 13k miles, i'd say its worth quite abit. Whats the service history like as it might be worth more as it is instead of a conversion shell.

Cor that is a minter!! Shame its not a G  ;) would be a shame to split it down and convert it really imo..

i think that if you were to put it on the bay it would make between 400-700 but for that price i think people would want MOT etc. ;)

chris2911

worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

do you have price in mind

Indeed, shame it isn't a genuine G. Service history is stamped in the service book. I didn't really have a price in mind to be honest, im just trying to weigh up wether im better selling it for someone else to enjoy/convert or stick it in a barn at my girlfriends house for a while?

TBH pettsy, I'd just sell it on. I don't think it'd ever be worth that much however low the mileage and mint it may be.
I remember some while ago there was a very early mk2 breadvan that a dealer had got hold off. It too had circa 13k on the clock and was in genuinely mint condition throughout. It was a completely standard time warp motor and everything was like new.
Initially the dealer had it up for something like £2.5k and everyone on Club Polo laughed. (Mind you, that's to be expected on there!) Over a period of time the price was lowered to what I thought was a sensible level, and still everyone mocked him. It was a shame too, 'cos you couldn't have bought and restored a Polo to this standard for anywhere near the £2.5k he was originally asking!
It's just a case of supply and demand. People just won't spend a lot of money on a mint but basic Polo like they might on an early Golf.
Let's face it, basic mk3 Polo's are even less likely to become a collectors piece, so sell it on for a conversion or as it is. Stick a new MOT on it an I reckon you should get £800 if you hold out.
Good luck with it.

yeah id say put it up for £1000 or so, it is nice i remember seeing the pics before, nice for a good condition car, and nice for a conversion, it ticks the boxes i say, and low mileage polos in that silver can be spotted a mile off!

but from your point of view you gota ask whats it worth to you, im having a clear out of parts and projects, realising i just wont have time to do them!

Cheers for the opinions, think its made my mind up. Going to get it MOT'd and stick it up for sale. Means i'll have more space to work on my G  8)
