I know most of us are all big boys now and christmas is less of a big deal but most people will recieve something or be asked what they'd like?  So what are people expecting? Hoping for?  Anything G40 related?
My GF always refused to buy me anything car related until i pleaded and said 'there is honestly nothing i want other than car parts so any money i get will only go on that'...so this year she bought me a g40 radiator and a new expansion tank ha ha.  very pleased in deed and it also gives me something to occupy myself  with in the couple of weeks off.

Myself and several friends have the same problem, why is it car parts are a Christmas present no-no?

I just told her that I'd buy her nothing she wanted either ha ha

PeteG40

cos they'd get it wrong.

OEM VW mats = YAY

Rubbish supermarket mats = NAY

I'm hoping to buy myself some car parts for christmas Dan - PPP full system and a subframe kit which I told you the other day I wasn't going to get!  :D
Might as well get them before I start getting the car back into shape!

well i cant really complain at g/f not buying car parts or tools, as that will only help take up more of the weekend that she gets none of!

i bought myself a tamiya RC Car as i seem to be having a child hood moment, a Pioneer mixer, mixing desk as i miss djing, a winter coat, and a goose top gun t shirt

Christmas presents are mostly tat you never use anyway lol

Is the Tamyia electric or nitro? Electric ones are so easy, plug and play, whereas the nitro ones can be a bit fickle having to keep them cool and always adjusting the mixture. I've already got the RC toys, bought myself a Hobao Hyper 8 nitro buggy for my 30th a couple of years ago, but cooked the engine in that and then bought a Hobao Hyper ST nitro truggy. Such a laugh, use them on the local BMX track, they don't half survive some abuse! Plenty of pics on You Tube showing what they are capable of. Superb fun!

Lads never grow out of toys.  Cars for enthusiasts like us, are just big toys.  I told everyone I know that I don't want anything that is utter tat. I'd rather have nothing ha ha.  Last year I got bought this bag this with a battery operated mechanism inside.  Attached to that was a cats tail that hung out of the bag.  Basically it was meant to be a cat stuck in a bag rolling around.  Funny for all of 2 mins.  Threw it in the bin about a month ago as I just didnt have anywhere i wanted it to go.  I mean who's seriously gonna see that 6 months down the line and think 'ooo let's have a go of that?'

I know what you mean Spaniel. Either last year or the year before, I got a beer can type container labelled 'best 50 pub tricks' or something. Inside it just had a list of quite stupid things to 'impress all your mates', can't even remember what, and some props and instructions for a few crappy tricks. May impress a five year old for the first time, but what the hell am I gonna do with it? Still got it somewhere, I can't be arsed to even look for it to throw out! It'll probably turn up when I'm looking for something else.
