Aluminium Header Tank- Shiney

Too shiney for my car, cap blow off is 1.5bar nicely made aluminium header tank for stock Polo mounts.

I've given it a quick wipe, could do with a decent polish to bling it up properly.

I know this is sold but what is the purpose of a header tank?

the proper word is expansion tank it allows the coolant to expand as it warms up
