i am considering providing a service which envolves repairing any stripped threads and removing any snapped bolts from either charger casings, inlet manifolds, throttle bodies and also exhaust manifolds., i have done some small repair jobs for PeteG40, SamG40, rae and hayesey. just as a practice, i also bored Pete's throttle body out to 50.8mm and made a new butterfly, tho am struggling porting the 90 degree bend above the throttle body (still trying to work that one out).
what do you guys think to this, do you already have this service provided for you??
let me know please and i may persue this idea

Cheers Tom

hayesey

yeah one thing I can think of right away is removing snapped rocker cover bolt threads from cam bearing caps.  That's a fairly common one.  Managed it myself once but it was a bitch.

Snapped exhaust manifold studs in a head is another one but the costs of posting heads about isn't going to be small.

It's a good idea, not sure just how much business you'd get from just this forum though.  If you offered the service to loads of forums then you'd prob get a fair bit of work out of it.

tdh-syorks

yeah, suppose so, might leave it as is

hayesey

well offering the service will do no harm I suppose and any business you get is a bonus?  I certainly don't mind you doing because you've been very helpful in the past and I'd probably send something to you if I was stuck.

i would be intrested in gettin my TB enlarged to 51mm  :)

Yep I can vouch for Tom , he's done at least two or three bits for me now. All been top jobs too. Postage might be the problem though as Hayes said.

tdh-syorks

cheers Sam, might just carry on doing the small repairs for people locally in that case.
