i want to go fully comp but where do you guys go for yours and what should i be expecting to pay

Max

Will Brentacre not cover you fully comp mate?

g40chris

The cheapest quote i have had is £900 and that was by a company called premium choice. Im 22 and only got 1 year no claims.

g40chris

i got a £340 tpft quote from HIC today

Dan

Brentacre seem to be the cheapest when you take modifications into consideration.

g40chris

HIC have beaten them by £50 with all mods declared

Jezza-7

Who is HIC? I think i might give them a try.

Your best bet is to play a couple of them off against each other.

I had a similar quote from Brentacre (7 years NCB, Fully Comp) and Adrian Flux were offering something similar.  They both kept asking what the other was quoting ... I told them and before I knew it they were in a battle to get my custom!! Ended up at £319 Fully Comp with AF (limited to 5,000 miles, parked on the drive which helps).

I didn't intend to do that but it seemed to work if you just push them a bit harded miraculoulsly they came up with cheaper quotes.  Not something I'd usually do but will stick to from now on when I renew!

My question is could be answered here i think (sorry to go off topic but shhh) lol

I'm looking to start my insurance asap but have been wondering when i say the "market value" of the car is £2500 (example)...does that mean if i crash and car is written off, i get back £2500, or can they come and say " nah we'll give u £500"...Reason i ask is because most of the value on the G40 comes from it being kinda rare im guessing which the insurance company wont take into account?

Kinda hard to explain but im hoping most of you understand, and have any information that can help?

Cheers!

From what I know .....

You can get an agreed value on your car, assume it involves some photos, something in writing etc etc.  I don't think it's necessary on the 'standard' G40 because you could do the following ....

If you car is written off the insurer will offer you book value ... which should be fairly good on the G40?  But they also have to prove you can buy that actual car for the money i.e. if you show them the G40's for sale they would be around £2-£3k so the payout would have to be equivelent to that.  Obviously with mods etc it is much harder to show what your car is worth.

Whether that actually happens in real life I don't know?

hmm yeah exteior is going to be standard anyway so the modification aspect of it doesnt bother me. Any engine mods can be removed providing the car doesnt blow up or something ;)

I wouldnt have thought the insurers "book value" is very high...

Anyone confirm the market value info provided by jimbugalee ?

Thanks

g40chris

mine is parked in my locked garage

the HIC quote is for agreed value of £3500 which needs 5 pics of car, milage limited to 7000miles
