Bought my first G40 at the weekend off of DKnight and i am very happy.

But i have one problem. When i am driving i have noticed a flat spot around 2500rpm on all gears, the engine just judders at 2500rpm and then is fine after.

Could any1 help on diagnose this problem.

Thanks

hmm could be ignition components breaking down somewhere? timing?

soggy1

What components of ignition? Dizzy cap, HT leads?

PeteG40

Will get onto gsf when i get paid! Might aswell do a service while i am doing it.

howdy dude!

hmm flat spot, cant say i noticed it, might be worth popping the throttle body top off and seeing if it has been dewedged, i cant recall, it might cause problems if the pop rivets are loose etc

also might be worth getting a fuel pressure guage on it, just to rule that out

as for service parts, the leads and cap and arm etc were all the parts that came on the car when i got it, so could do with a renewal

maybe even vag com it to see what readings it gives?

ordered new leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and W5DP0 plugs today, so at the weekend i will fit them and see if fixes the problem.
If not i will look at timming.

might need to get it mapped, or map checked
