This is my G40 that i bought a month ago for £1500

And after a clean

Im taking it to a Rolling road to see what power it has. Then when i have completed i will take it again to see what gains i have made.

The service history is poor, so im doing a massive service myself. Need to get the gera box looked at as it slips out of 2nd when de accelerating and sometimes out of 5th. I think it is the syncro.

I will do all the standard things like oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, wiper blades (cause there crap), rotor arm, dizzy cap, disc's and pads (black diamond), nology spark plugs, nology HT leads (expensive too), coolant replace, brake fluid change and new hoses, replace shoes and drums or look at rear disc conversion, oil feed line for the charger, cant think of anything right now.

Then i will start with the plans im planning on doing.

Get the charger sent to jabba for R1 upgrage
Toothed belt kit and 65mm pulley and HTD belt (like the one that Rae is selling)
Poosilby looking at 20mm Cog belt for the charger but hard to find
Chip (from Yoof?)
Schrick cam
Cam shaft wheel (Adjustable?)
Wossner pistons
GT inlet manifold
De wedge throttle body
Induction kit with heat shield
4 branch s/s Exhaust manifold
Full s/s exhaust system (get rid of the current back box)
G60 injectors
SM engineering Oil catch tank
Possibly Mocal 13 row Oil Cooler
Forge motorsport intercooler
Paddle Clutch/SACH's kit
Lightened flywheel
If i can get a G40 cup box
Boost Gauge
Oil pressure Gauge
replace boost pipes
Sport suspensin
Some type of bushes like power flex
Upper and lower strut braces and rear

Any recommendations on dump valve? im 50/50.

Get standard headlights back on, got indicators ready and get side repeaters.
New alloys and tyres. Not going to change much about the looks of it, as i love the way they are already.

Thats all i have got down on paper for now but if anyone has any suggestions on what to get and not to get please let me know as it will be a great help to me. Thanks.

Fred

Then when he`s got a bill for k`s ontop of what he`s paid he`ll wish he`d bought another car thats faster. LoL.

Andy

There was a G with the same headlamps and same colour around the Nottm area a few years ago - was fairly quick if memory serves too. Wonder if it's the same car?

lance

looks clean, that is a good list but one thing id add is a subframe!!!

supercharged spaniel

not really nescessary if you ask me - wide ones sold on here for std cogs are fine for any stage charger

i was hoping that'd be number one on the list? lol, sorry, not a fan of them front lights!!!!

BTW that's a long shopping list..... !!!!!! lol

i'm guessing it'l be the start of a love/hate relationship between you and the car.

Lol yeah i think it will be! Im not a fan of them lights either. I said to my mates everything is good apart from the headlights.
I think i will not get a dumpvalve. lol.
The toothed kit you were selling was the same? from the person who sells them on ebay? The picture was the same. I know of a company that does aluminum kits, would it be better to get a kit from them?

Could of been, the fella i bought it off had it for 9 years and used to go up that way to see his parents so it could of been.

get in touch with yoof or andy on here or look in polo peformance parts over on club polo for the info about it.

A subframe's probably the best bit of kit for your G. It transforms the handling big time.

Robin

good luck on all the mods.

Hope you have deep pockets and when i say deep i mean proper deep lol!

Jezza-7

Right i thought i would keep a little update with my progress, thats going slower than i planned. But.... oh well!

The GT inlet manifold are on, de-wedged throttle body is on and done an oil change. I used Synta silver from VW, 10w40 i think.

I have to say i can notice the loss of throttle response but it is alot quicker just from them mods.

DaBigGinger

Bear in mind if you use a toothed belt pulley on your charger, this will invalidate any warranty with Jabbasport if they get wind of it (they've got something against them for some reason). G Werks don't mind toothed belts, though.
