Ive been battling with the tempreture guage on the clocks for ages now. I had the car running today and managed to change a bit of the loom that has the fan switch and sensor on it as my loom wasnt working. Ran the car up to tempreture, after about 20mins the fan kicked in and worked for about 2 minutes every 2 minutes or so. I assume this is normal, however the tempreture guage doesnt budge! Ive tried to bridge the gap between the multi connector and the black temp sensor and the needle on the guage went to the top. Then today I tried it again and the temp guage went to what I assume was the correct tempreture (around 80ish) and when I plugged the sensor back in it drops. Now even bridging the gap doesnt work. Its so anoying. Anyone have any ideas or sollutions? Both the blue and black temp sensors are new aswell and the loom is fine.

chances are your black temp sender has gone. this sends the signal to the dials.

Ow, so even though it's new can they fail that quickly? If they are so unreliable is there an alternative solution to Reading the temp like proper guage?
