I really fancy some 14 x 6j P slots in black but i cant decide on tyres...ive looked at the '14" bbs' thread and the ones people seem to recommend are 195/45 or 50/14's.... now searching on the net 50's seem harder to get than 45's.

I can get a set of toyo proxes in 195/45/14's for 217 quid delivered...how would they be?

what i need is a tyre that makes the wheels look good on a car running a 60/40 H&R cup kit but not cause any scrubbing issues whatsoever.  I like how my standard 13" bbs go into the arches a little so im after the same thing really just a bit more wheel than tyre...thanks.dan

actually its 185/50's mentioned..which ones then?

Can't find any pictures but I seem to remember Tav running 185/50s (Toyo's) on 14s with H&R...looked perfect.

yokos in 185 50 are good, nice bounce to them same radius as a g40 on 175 60 13s

yoko 195 45 14 are slightly bigger profile than toyos in 195 45 14 both are good.

also not bad are uniroyal rainsports

quite a few people are saying 185/50's.  think ill go for them then.

I've been running 195/45 on my 6x14BBS for the past 3 years, they are slightly smaller rolling diameter than the 175/60-13's, but they look the part and personally don't have any complaints, though I'm tempted to go 185/50 next, but the cost and choice is putting me off at the moment.
If you don't want a hardcore driving tire then the falken ZE512(195/45/14)(don't bother with it on a 175/60/13 there shit) is a good alrounder, though not up to the requirements of some of the people on here??
Guess it all depend how hard you push your tyres and also how much weight your car is running, if you've got a striped down specification then the 185/50 or maybe the 175/60-14(Peugeot 106 Rallye spec) would be more approriate.
Don't forget outer rolling diameter plays a big part in drivetrain component life and acceleration rather than just mph/1000rpm in top, its a always a trade off regardless.

::) ??? :P ;D ??? 8)

There's also the joy of parking with 195's to consider. 195's are great for the open road but if you use your G as a daily in town then you'll find parking a bastard. 185's are a good compromise.

Try 3 shredded wheat instead of frosties!! ;D ;D ;)

thanks for the sound advice lads..im thinking the 185/50/14's is the best option for me..  The car is a daily and i like the fact that the 185/50's are the same rolling radius as the g40 175/60/13's.  shame they dont have as much choice in them as the 195's although they do yokos and i used to have them on my 13's which i really liked.

Fred

LoL, I have Three Shredded Wheat every morning.

Pete Told me that you`d feel the bumps more with 195x45x14 but with your lowering they`d look ok.

Tav swears bye Toyo T1R Proxy`s.

Here`s a pic of 4 BBS RA 14" he was selling a bit back with new Toyo`s on + 1 on
his G40 Lowered 60x40 H&R Cupkit.
