I new that Eaton M45 kits are availabe, but here in Bulgaria can't find them. The only way is ebay.com, but the delivery price is so high  >:(
So, can I use a pulleys and belts set of MK3 Golf for example or other VAG engineto fit on my G40 with standart Eaton M45 pulley, or someone tell me sizes of the pulleys to make them custom (I've people to do this work).

The max pressure I want is 1bar.

Thanks in advance. :)

for about 1 bar of boost on an eaton you want a 27 tooth htd pulley.

its all relative, depending on what size your charger pulley is.

I do have a crank pulley from an AWT eaton kit which was run with a stock  mini eaton pulley.  YOu'ld just need an alternator pulley then.

To be more specific a 27 tooth 8m htd pulley would produce around 1/1.1 bar of boost when used in conjunction with a psd spec toothed pulley kit.

what;s the point in going to all the effort of doing an eaton conversion to run a bar of boost?  Just charger reliability?

the AWT kit uses a 20v NA golf crank pulley which is larger diameter than the original G40 crank pulley so it has an opposite effect on the charger pulley making it spin quicker as if it was a smaller pulley on the charger. im sure the eaton charger's standard pulley is 65mm, so with this effect with the larger crank pulley im sure a standard pullied eaton would produce a little more than 1 bar of boost

Yea charger reliability is a point, i went towards an eaton conversion as it's better suited to the space confinements of the mk1 engine bay (basically i won't have to cut the front panel and i can even still run the early grille.

Yes it can only run around a bar of boost with the 27 tooth pulley but then it isn't a problem to take that pulley off and put a smaller one on (24 tooth).

Here in Bulgaria the price of servicing a G40 is near to the price of new one. And as I know the chance to broke an Eaton is very small.

As long as the seals on the charger are all in good condition, it shouldnt die unless you do something real stupid to it.

Doc J

What can be this stupid sh.. that I can make? I want an Eaton because I see some cases when people change the pulley of the G with smaller and the charger dies. This scared me. But I want higher boost. And I see that the Eaton can produce it with no chance to broke (in the most cases  :D )
