polo gt gearbox on g40

hi im building a mk1 golf t40 mainly for the drag strip and was looking and a few people have put gt box's on their g40's and wondered if its would bring the quarter mile times down or what would be the best box for the job.

I used to have a GT gearbox on my Turbo mate, its a bit crazy really and the ratios are far too short.
An ATV G40 gearbox would be much better suited, LSD would also be a bonus.
