g40 and tappets???

hi im just wondering why you need to change the tappets when fitting an aftermarket cam the an engine ? what is the reason for this?

well uyou dont have to but it's a good idea.  The tappits andcam wear together so old tappits will have worn to the shape of a different cam.

ok that is what i thought but i was just wondering if they was any other reason to do this .
