I'm interested to see the difference (if anyone has any pictures) of the G40 front ARB mount compared to the other Mk3 polo's. I think it's notched slightly to take into account the belts. As I'm doing a G40 conversion which will be using a toothed belt, I need to see a bit better where to notch the ARB mount.

Thanks

Andy

My '92 CL had exactly the same ARB mount as the '91 G40 donor car I bought off Rick, so you might be okay. I didn't need to file any of it when running toothies.

i might be able to get a photo at the weekend

I had to cut a notch out of the mount on my g40 when I first bought it.  Since it was a conversion it never had the proper g40 one with a notch in it and the toothed belt would catch every now and then.  Nothing Mr Angle Grinder couldn't soon take care of though  ;D

Ok, cheers. Some get away with it, others need a bit of metal removing. The last one I converted did and I don't wan't to chance it when it's all being painted.

If you could get a pic that would be great, Pete.

Will be getting the grinder out, just want to remove the right amount of material in the right area.

i have a genuine G40 ARB mount for sale if anyone is interested.
