Thanks for the link mate, but just to let you know I think that is just a standard type radiator.
The G40 models are the same size but have a specific, denser core for improved cooling. That said I reckon a good quality standard one will be fine for most applications.
I think G40 rads are dealer only and quite expensive in comparison.

Hi There,  Just replying to your comments on the Autokool rad.  I found the Autocool rad to be of better quality and design than the twenty year old quality of the V/W one. I have a 1300 cl as well as my g40 and the rads are identical same core and depth. As you so rightly said the V/W ones are far more expensive, today retail £124.22p for the g40 one, But here is the strange thing which V/W had no answer for £157.70p for the CL One? So if you need a rad for your cl buy a cheaper G40 one. Or better still buy an up to date Autocool one for just £42 67p. Cheers Big E.

the g40 rads have a different part numbr and a denser core (though many g40s now have cl type rads as they are same size and aftermarket manufacturers dont differentiate)

better in what way?  standard gt/g40 rads have more, smaller tubes in their cores so have more tube surface area and better cooling than normal mk3 polo rads even though the core is physically the same size.

Ye, strange that the normal mk3 polo rad is a lot more expensive with as you say less cooling tubes in the core.
