Dan- 7.5" at the rear, 7" at the front, with 175/50 on the front and 195/45 on the back (I think), used to belong to RAW (Andy- my brother in law) and the wheels sat lovely.

Apparently this car came to the UK for a bit too. My old man used to work for VW at ramsgate where vws used to come into the country. supposidly they weren't allowed to drive it as i think it had some engine problems. but 1.9 Turbo flat four would be quite something in that! ;D

thought this side of the charger was only intake? so how does it create pressure?

djtez it is difficult to explain in English, but with one dump valvule the car is fast not to change the speeds .the G-lader of the right side this to also function as intake of air, and this to make much pressure.

alan your G is better than alright, looks really clean, whats going on with the exhaust thought, looks well bizarre! imo i would look better cut back to the bumper recess, or hidden tdi style.

and doc-ls red beast with the wide arches looks well rude, reminds me of the david sutton mk2 polo with integrale style arches

Post by: alan gorst on May 03, 2011, 12:12:40 am: when i bought my g it was advertised as capri green :S i dont know if thats right or not...yeah my polo is clean..nearly rust free ect but i then bent my drivers door and now it has a white one :( however its gettin a full respray this month hopefully...including smoothed wings,partly smoothed boot,aerial smoothed out of roof , smoothed bumpers , some colour coding(removing bump strips but keeping the arches),smoothed bonnet and to top it all off perspecs windows :P

Wasn't on trade though as at the time I didn't own my garage. The fit isn't too bad but be prepared to 'edit' it as the Germans like to translate, plus there is no mounting brackets on the bumpers it's just the skin! It's a lot of money for what it is!

My mate who worked on them at yeovilton said when they used to test the radar system and weapon locking, they used to point it at the road and track cars coming down a hill about 2-3 miles away, then simulate a weapon firing at the car.

A mate of mine was a harrier pilot then got transferred onto the typhoon (best pilots were harrier pilots due to the nozzle transition) . The engine is a work of art though, went round the Rolls factory in Derby with Uni and they had one there. Loads crashed in the testing phase didn't they?

Yeah a lot crashed from being in the hover. They use water to increase thrust, like water injection, but it only gave them a limited supply then they ran out and fell quite quickly.

Was something to do with the pilots jacket catching, i think, the selector for hover lever and caused it to literally fall out the sky.

This was a harrier that crashed at yeovilton into the river yeo.

AS you can imagine the environment people were not happy.

You wanna check out the new VTOL F35 lighting. Thats got some crazy stuff going on for the hover. Looks like a transformer coming into land and used a fan to make it hover with the jet nozzles at the rear to help.

Doesnt the engine produce hot and cold air for the nozzles? Cant remember now, and then it has air tubes running down the wings to enable it to turn in the hover.

Also the G-Lynx used water methanol injection to set the fastest speed record for a chopper.

And i think in WW2 they used water injection for the aircraft. The spitfire used a supercharger to get more power as it went higher.

The combination of hot and cold combustion gasses pre LP turbine and after HP turbine are used to get the jet temp and velocity correct. Still a turbo jet engine though (minimal bypass ratio).
