Title: ebay camber and castor gauges

Has anyone tried one of the (relatively cheap) camber/castor/kingpin gauges from ebay:

I'm wanting something I can reasonably accurately measure and set both camber and castor angles. I would use it with a camber bar. Just wondering if this is worth paying extra for over a cheap camber gauge that can be had for about £20.

You're better off getting one with 3 points of contact mate - easier to use and much more repeatable, if you build the framework yourself like one of these:

Then just buy an inclinometer, you can use it for putting up shelves too then  ;)

hmm, you have to keep that held in place just by hand though?  I assume you'd use the inclinometer in one axis to get the frame to 90deg from the floor and then flip the inclinometer 90deg in the horizontal axis to measure the camber?  Shame they don't just sell that frame on it's own!  Looks fairly easy to make though.

I do like to run a bit of negative camber on the utility room shelves to keep the washing powder well planted.

so on this, I found an engine shop in Brighouse which sells those for a decent price (well about £225 which seems cheaper than most) so I'm just going to buy one, waiting for them to arrive from the states.  So far I've been there and bought a set of toe plates from them which I used the other day to set the tracking. 

Toe plates are great, much easier to use (for me) than a laser alignment tracking gauge, I also got a set of dished turn plates so I can adjust without jacking the car up.  It seems to work very well.

Going to pick up the camber/castor gauge this week although I'm sure that will take me longer to learn to use.
