Title: shagged engine for xmas great
Post by: garye40 on November 09, 2009, 10:29:35 PM
well just when I had built the eaton machine up seems i was screwed and me head gasket is gone also the head is badly damaged needs replaced
Also while I striped it i see that my bore is mirror like could explain that oil pissing out the dipstick, breather, exhaust lol
looking for ideas should i go 1308 or 1341cc i am ideally looking at an eaton with BVH all the usual mods maybe eaton cam if i ever get given the timing from someone
any thoughts
cheers in advance

1307cc is a 1mm overbore and 1341cc is with a 2mm over bore. You are probably best going for the largest cc unless you are restricted by competition cylinder capacity thresholds?

A nice set of ACL bearings!
Metal headgasket
Forged pistons
Maybe balance your rods and crank!
Or just get some billet rods! (if available)
MEans you can run loads of boost and it wont blow up!
Obviously with supporting mods!

No need to uprate G40 rods unless you want to go over 300 hp

Fair comment!
I just thought while it was in bits why not go the whole hog then you dont have to touch it all again once its back together!

I might be able to help with the details for the eaton camshaft, especially if you decide to go 1341.
