A few of you out there will know these exsist from the days of VW development with Lader technology. Some complete ones were smuggled out by the workforce 8)

Interesting :)
you going g45 then nick?
Nick, the g45 lader was from a concept polo or vw was selling them as spare parts?
rocking horse shit no doubt!
Whats the main difference with this? Just slightly bigger?

Nope, unfortunately :(
This one was owned by Andreas who is selling the N.O.S G40 chargers. He got it off a Wolfsburg employee, but only had it a few weeks before someone robbed it from his garage!
Here are the other pics

thats a big shame having it nicked!!!
how many exist?
He said that was the only complete one he knows about. There are quite a few casings knocking about, but i reckon the scrolls destroyed by VW.
what a waste!
i would love to know the proper ins and outs of the G40 project at VW!
I could cum in my pants.
Wonder if they did any other. a G80? G50?
i wonder why they settled on g40 then? must of been a reason!

good read that site!
Rumor has it they were working in a Polo G45 that ran on a 1.4 engine. Had 150bhp but vw decided it was 'dangerous' in the testing phase!
i love stuff like this
I like the fact that they did this within the existing G40 size housings castings by the looks of it, or is the casting wider too? If so it must mean that there is scope for developemnt still??
Maybe a machined down G60 scoll into an opened up G40 case.......... ??? ???
Damm wish I had the time to play with a project like that!
He exhaust side of the casing is larger than the G40 one I belive

Thats amazing. I wonder if thats the stolen one that is spoken about earlier on this thread?? Maybe someone should try and contact Andreas if he doesnt already know?!
Would a g45 produce alot more boost than a g40 then ?
i'd hate to own this .. u couldn't trust anyone to rebuild this. although i'd love more boost
chances are everything bar centre bearings would be same as g40/g60 anyway
i would have it on my G40 just to be unique, besides that if you wanted the bigger hike just go BVH/1341cc forged bottom end and fit a g60 charger (lairy ;D)
I know this topic is old but there is a g45 charger, genuine one, for sale on German eBay.
yes this one....

Yeah Rotelle Racing make them...
I am very tempted to go down this route when the time is right.
Not sure what to expect but I would say a safe 190bhp sounds achievable with all the surrounding mods, however no ones managed to clarify how much more boost it would give with a smaller pulley over a R1 SPEC Charger.
This one on ebay was genuine, not a rotelle racing one.

no problem, here is the table with the airflow:

- G45: 635ccm³ per rotation
- G60: 860ccm³ per rotation
- G65: 925ccm³ per rotation
- G75: 1060ccm³ per rotation
