Ignition wiring

Im fitting a turbo timer and need to wire it the ignition wire, if i run it to the same one as my wideband gauge, will that work?

Well it works but dont keep the car running, guess its cause its not the main ignition wire from the barrel.

Any ideas which colour is the main ignition wire?

off the top of my head i think its either red or red and white but ill have a look later and a switched ignition feed is a switched ignition feeds its irelivant where its taken from as it gives +12v when you switch the ignition on!

have you got an aftermarket alarm or ever had one as they may sometimes cut the coil or the fuel pump feeds to stop theft

It did have some sort of alarm fitted but i took all the wiring out.

I thought it had to come from the barrel ignition.

Was only fitting it as it was free. Maybe i will sell it on. Does give me a voltage reading though.
