Turbo timer
« on: November 24, 2012, 06:19:03 pm »
I got one off a mate for free and thought i might put it in.

I got 3 wires

Red    - 12v constant
Green - Ignition
Blue   - Accessories

How would i wire this in as i cant seem to find much info in the haynes. Obviously red is 12v but im stuck on the green and blue.

Been a while since i started up my G40 but iirc when you put the key in you turn to ignition and then one more and it starts?

So the green goes to ignition but what the hell is accessories?

Any help would be good.

This is the only guide i can find that helps:

Given a test light ground the ground wire , optionally take off the shroud on the steering column to get to the ignition wires, with the ignition key off poke the probe into each wire till you get one that lights up thats your 12V constant (RED) , next put the ignition key in accessories and poke wires again find one that lights up but this time turn the key to off again the light goes out thats your Accessories ( BLUE  Wire ) lastly put the key in ignition ( last position before start ) poke wires again till it lights up and confirm its ignition by switching back to Accessories position it should go off thats where you connect the (Green Wire )

Just found a video and apparently you dont need the accessories one, just the live and ignition one.

What is your one for? Like model?

Mine was for a jap car but you buy a different harness for universal fitting. Does your have the blue wire as well?

I got a diagram but could you post your on up as it might be more helpful to me.

its an apexi universal one. has alot of info for japcrap in the instructions but doesnt look toi hard to install (he says!)

no blue wire but has the following...
grey wire - to handbrake switch
black - ground
white - O2 sensor signal

then theres the 3 wires that go to the wiring harness and has a plug on the end...
red - 12v positive constant
blue - IG2 output (this the blue wire you meant?)
green - IG1 output

ill post the fitting diagram up as soon as photobucket behaves on my phone
