Hi guys.
right bought the cup gearbox off yoof couple months back and only now got around to taking it apart, i have pics of the gearbox and the diff apart, would just like some info on how i am to up the preload.
The last two pictures are what is stamped on the diff, which is vw motorsport and gtm/gtn
So back to my orignal question, what part/parts do i need to up the preload, and any info on where i can get them.
Cheers Simon

to increase the preload you add more/thicker plates into the diff clutch pack.

yeah pictures 4, 5 and 6 show clutch plates.
Is this a Gemini/Ricardo diff? Maybe somewhere there can help? Otherwise, just search for differential/gearbox specialists and get in touch with them explaining the situation. Hopefully you'll find one who can source or make new plates.

You could try Gripper:

Alternatively, you could try Ricardo (they bought Gemini). People who might be able to help you (if they're still there!) are Mick Strong or Iain Wight. Reception number is 01926 319319.
I wouldn't hold out any hope on Ricardo though, they scrapped (as in skipped!) all their 085 transmission stuff in November 2006. Maybe they'd supply you a drawing out the back door if you asked nicely though?!
