adding this type of arb is definantly an option but ground clearance is going to still be an issue as will wheel offset depending on where you mounted the arms to the tca.
if the arb was mounted first with the subfames.on afterwards i think the angle of the subfames pickup points my need change depending on how thick the arb mounts where.
All in all its definantly doable but there will more than likely be some compromises to be made.

yes this is an idea - but it wont work in the way that the article shows - the vehicle in question there is RWD - and as such has no drive shafts in the way of where it is mounted.

could still mount on the compression strut of the subfames though

you have to think about how tight the space is there though, the wheel wont have full lock as it is without something to shred the tyre.

ive always thought it would be possible to have a roll bar come from the other side and mount to the chassis at the brace part of the exhaust tunnel. it would have to be a custom made bar though, but could easily be fitted to a drop link attached at the original mounting point

Kiz is right. I've got one ARB that looks quite close in terms of fitment in the standardish location, but it'll limit ground clearance slightly and steering lock even more.

Coming from behind (ahem!) looks more plausible, but a 90° set of arms just won't fit - which makes using a blade type ARB like this a bit more challenging.

I'm yet to find anyone willing to make a custom ARB for sensible money, so at the moment for subframe owners wanting an ARB you're best off making your own to suit your own setup.

Whats involved in fabricating them? Presuamably bending round bar and then tempering them?

Corsa ARB's mount on the TCA's in a suitable way that could suit a polo. the TCA's are even mounted in a similar place! :-)

Too wet to go out and measure up but is locating the the ARB inside the subframe cross-member a possibility ? I was thinking along the lines of a larger open c section crossmember instead of the closed tube. It would exit the crossmember too near to locate effectively on the compression stut, but would it be possible to take it to the TCA with a bit of bending?
