I am about to put a set of 6X14 BBS rims, and i am thinking of putting larger brakes. I ve read that the 256 brakes are very good. what parts should i need in order to do the job ??

brake carriers from a late 80s 5cylinder audi (the hard bit)
brake calipers from the same - or golf 16v *marked girling 54*
256mm discs and pads from a golf 16v (mk2)

There's also the 270mm kit that TSR does. It's the business if you're not doing track days and don't want too much fitting hassle. It's a turned down 280mm and extension bracket set-up that only requires a wee bit of angle gringing and the sacrifice of the back plates. It looks quite expensive at £280 but if you were needing new discs and pads anyway it's not so bad a deal. Twice the gain of 239 to 256. The mutt's nuts.
