camshafts....standard or non standard??

hi people im new to the club....i have got myself a k reg polo g40. its very qwick and people ask me if its got a cam in it or not. and im not to sure i just wanted to know is there a visuable way of telling???cheers.

Take the cam cover off and inspect it is the only way. They are quick anyway tho, lol !

ok after that stage.i have the cam staring at me what numbers should i see i any????what sort of signs should i look at if their standard?

take a photo if you can let us look.

if you take off the distributor and see original VW marking (e.g vw 010 123 321)
then its standard .. or if its like mine e.g (bp 276 g40)
then that would be a piper cam ...
